On February 11, reports revealed a staggering 300-kilometer-long traffic jam, which caused widespread frustration among pilgrims and authorities alike. Despite the government’s extensive planning and significant financial investment, traffic mismanagement has led to major disruptions for both travelers and logistics providers.
Political Leaders Criticize Traffic Mismanagement
Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav strongly criticized the administration, blaming mismanagement for the massive congestion that has paralyzed the city’s roads. She pointed out that, despite large-scale government spending, the situation on the ground remains chaotic, with vehicles stranded for hours. Her statements intensified the political debate over the efficiency of government planning and execution in handling such a grand-scale event.
Authorities Attribute Delays to Record-Breaking Crowd
In response to the criticism, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar explained that the overwhelming number of attendees caused the unprecedented congestion.
