DSV, the global transport and logistics company, has expanded its strategic partnership with UNICEF to improve emergency supply deliveries worldwide. Over the years, this collaboration has focused on delivering life-saving supplies to children in critical situations. Now, with the expanded partnership, both organizations aim to increase in-kind air freight support during crises.

They also plan to strengthen global supply chains to ensure timely access to essential resources for vulnerable populations. This initiative comes at a crucial time when rapid response and efficient logistics can save countless lives in emergencies. By leveraging DSV’s logistics expertise and UNICEF’s humanitarian reach, they will address urgent needs across regions more effectively.

Increased Air Freight Support Enhances Crisis Response

DSV has committed to providing more in-kind air freight support for UNICEF. Over the past year alone, DSV delivered over 85 tonnes of vital supplies to seven countries. For instance, DSV handled the first UNICEF airlift to Lebanon in 2024. Moreover, during the mpox outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the company shipped 30 tonnes of medical equipment and tents. These examples illustrate DSV’s pivotal role in ensuring rapid delivery of emergency materials. Furthermore, the expanded partnership allows DSV to increase these crucial shipments, improving UNICEF’s capacity to respond swiftly to crises. Consequently, affected children receive essential aid within the critical early days of emergencies.

Strengthening Supply Chains for Greater Impact

In addition to air freight, DSV and UNICEF will collaborate to strengthen supply chains in targeted regions, particularly Latin America. DSV brings its industry expertise to enhance supply chain operations, ensuring essential goods reach children and families promptly. The partnership focuses on improving the supply chain workforce’s capabilities through training and development. Additionally, they will use the UNICEF Supply Chain Maturity Model to evaluate current systems. This evaluation will highlight areas needing improvement and guide operational enhancements. By doing so, UNICEF can better manage its resources and reduce delays in aid delivery. Therefore, stronger supply chains mean more reliable support for vulnerable communities worldwide.

Flexible Funding Enables Swift Resource Mobilization

Another key feature of the partnership is DSV’s flexible funding commitment. This financial support allows UNICEF to mobilize emergency resources quickly, sometimes within 24 hours after a crisis begins. The ability to deploy supplies rapidly is essential during emergencies, where delays can cost lives. With DSV’s backing, UNICEF can respond with greater agility and precision. This flexible funding mechanism also reduces bureaucratic hurdles, enabling faster decision-making and action. Thus, UNICEF can deliver lifesaving aid to children wherever they are, regardless of logistical challenges or remote locations.

A Lifeline for Children in Crisis

Overall, the partnership between DSV and UNICEF serves as a vital lifeline for children affected by disasters. By increasing air freight support, strengthening supply chains, and enabling swift resource mobilization, they enhance UNICEF’s emergency response capabilities. This collaboration ensures that essential supplies reach those in greatest need promptly. Moreover, it highlights the importance of private sector involvement in humanitarian efforts. Together, DSV and UNICEF create a model of efficiency and compassion that can inspire similar partnerships worldwide. Their joint work ultimately protects vulnerable children and offers hope amid crises.
